This Privacy Policy explains how Clutch Developer ("we", "us", or "our"), the operator of the Routina app and the routina-app.com website (together, the "Service"), collects and uses your information. For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Clutch Developer is the data controller. You can reach us about privacy at info@clutchdeveloper.com.
Routina is designed to work on your device. Your routines, items, check logs, photos, and voice transcripts are stored in a local database on your phone and never leave it unless a feature you turn on requires it. Cloud sync, account sign-in, and analytics are all optional and described below.
We process data to provide and operate the Service (sync, restore, and unlock features you pay for), to keep it secure and reliable, to fix bugs and improve features, to understand aggregate usage, to communicate with you about the Service, and to comply with our legal obligations.
On your device, content is stored in a local database, and credentials are kept in the operating system's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android). If you sign in, your routines and logs sync to Google Cloud Firestore, isolated to your account. Free accounts upload a backup; cross-device download and two-way sync are Pro features. Data in transit and at rest in Firebase is encrypted by Google. Because we operate this backend, our authorized systems can technically access stored content to provide and maintain the Service — we access it only as needed for those purposes. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
If you add photo or voice proof to a check, Routina uses your camera, photo library, and microphone. Photos are saved to your device, and voice is transcribed to text on-device using your operating system's speech recognition. This media and these transcripts stay on your device and are not uploaded to us.
Routina Pro is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play using their in-app purchase systems (StoreKit and Play Billing). Apple and Google process your payment and provide us only with your subscription status and a transaction identifier — we never see your payment card or billing address. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Analytics (Firebase Analytics), crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics), performance monitoring (Firebase Performance), and logging (Datadog) are used to keep Routina working well. On iOS, we ask for tracking permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using any advertising identifier — you can decline and the app works exactly the same. You can turn off analytics and diagnostics collection from Settings → Data & Privacy in the app; when you do, we stop collecting analytics, performance, and crash data and pause logging.
If you allow notifications, we may send reminders and Service messages via Firebase Cloud Messaging, which uses a device push token. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, though some reminders depend on them.
We rely on a small set of trusted providers that process data on our behalf. We don't use ad networks, and we don't use Mixpanel, Amplitude, RevenueCat, OneSignal, or similar tools.
Authentication, cloud sync (Cloud Firestore), analytics, crash reporting (Crashlytics), performance monitoring, remote configuration, and push notifications (Cloud Messaging). Data processed: account identifiers, email, your synced routines and logs, usage events, diagnostics, device information, and push token. Place of processing: EU / United States — Firebase Privacy · Google Privacy Policy.
Application logging and real-user monitoring to diagnose errors and performance issues. Collection is consent-aware and pauses when you turn diagnostics off. Data processed: diagnostic logs, device information. Place of processing: United States / EU — Privacy Policy.
Deep linking and basic install attribution. Routina configures Branch with its attribution level set to "none", minimizing the data collected. Data processed: device information and deep-link parameters. Place of processing: United States — Privacy Policy.
App distribution (App Store), account sign-in (Sign in with Apple), and subscription payments (StoreKit). Sign in with Apple can relay a private, anonymized email on your behalf. Data processed: purchase and subscription information; name and email if you use Sign in with Apple. Place of processing: United States — Privacy Policy.
App distribution, account sign-in, and subscription payments on Android. Data processed: purchase and subscription information; account email if you use Google Sign-In. Place of processing: United States — Privacy Policy.
Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Synced content and account data are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we erase your synced content from Firestore before deleting your authentication record; residual copies in encrypted backups are removed on a rolling basis, typically within 30 days. Diagnostic and analytics data are retained only as long as needed for their purpose.
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries outside your own. Where data is transferred out of the EU/EEA or UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the providers' certifications.
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. You can access, export, or delete your data directly from Settings → Data & Privacy in the app, or contact us to exercise any of the rights below.
To exercise a right, email info@clutchdeveloper.com. We respond within the timeframe required by law — generally within one month under GDPR and within 45 days under the CCPA. We may need to verify your identity first.
Routina isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
The routina-app.com website is intentionally minimal. It stores a single browser local-storage key ("routina_lang") to remember your language choice. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on the website. The Routina app itself doesn't use browser cookies; the tracking technologies it uses (such as mobile identifiers) are described in the sections above.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Please review it periodically. If a change requires your consent, we'll ask for it.
